Movements4Movements
Movement and Yoga Facilitator
The exploration of this life and the human experience through movement and meditation has been a driving force for Katie since she was young.
Originally from Maine, Katie has been a part of the dance community for 29 years studying, directing, choreographing and performing in Maine, NYC, LA, Seattle and Portland, Oregon. She’s been a movement educator since 2003 and has worked hard to develop and manage programs that create successful students.
In her 20’s Katie began exploring ideas around how to bring an awareness of mental and emotional health through movement to her students and the public. To further her education in conscious movement and how to create a safe space for those wanting to explore their lives she received her 200hr yoga teacher training at Kripalu in 2010 and started facilitating group and private sessions. In 2014, she completed her 500hr YTT in India through Sacred Lasya.
SInce moving to Missoula, Montana, Katie has decided to dedicate her life to her passion of educating, creating and facilitating safe space for people to get into their bodies connecting and healing through movement. Katie is the head coach for Roots Acro Sports Teams’ competitive dance program, she facilitates weekly yoga classes, and feels honored to be a part of such an amazing organization, Movements4Movements, to help manage and facilitate Katie is so excited to be returning to Samsarafest for the 3rd year. This gathering has been a yearly highlight and one that has brought a deep sense of love, healing and connection.
